Scrub Nurse

This was another fab cake - not just modelling people which I love but my first Scrub Nurse.  The cake was to celebrate a surgical Scrub Nurse retiring from the NHS. Great fun to make and turned out just as I had planned.

Porsche Track Racer

This was a great cake.  The recipient was a 50 year old chap who loves his Porsche and track racing.  After being equipped with lots of useful photos I set to work on a 2D image of his porsche - I hopefully did it justice.  I think the whole idea worked out really well. Definitely my first track racer cake.

Kenilworth Business & Retail Fayre

What a fabulous day.
Right from the start there was a steady flow of people coming into the fayre.  Not just other businesses but the public too.  I believe they had about 500 people through the door by the end of the day.

There was a super buzz in the room.  Excellent day, well organised and lots of nice people met.  A big thanks to the Kenilworth Chamber of Trade for organising the event and giving small businesses like myself a chance to showcase ourselves.

Laboratory Scientist

This cake was for a girl's 21st birthday.  The brief was a fun cake, biological science and a vegetarian.  I think we covered all bases.  This cake is extra special as I used to be a biomedical scientist - aahh test tubes and a bunsen burner - the good old days....

3D Sugar Models

I create a lot of novelty cakes involving 3D models of people.  This is probably one of the most enjoyable parts of my job.  It can be incredibly fiddly getting all the details.  but it's those little details which make all the difference.
Here are a few recent cakes with models.

A cake shaped as a cricket bat with a 3D sugar model to celebrate an 18th birthday.

A cake to celebrate a couple's 60th wedding anniversary.  The wife loves knitting and shopping while the husband loves gardening and birds.

A popular cake in which the cake represents the person's garden with a model of them working in it.

A more unusual cake to celebrate a big birthday for  a member of the Kennel Club and his love of gun dogs.

An 18th birthday cake who a young lad who is a talented pianist.

A birthday cake for a builder with his obligatory flask of tea!

F1 Car Cake

This is another cake I made recently for a 21st birthday.
The base tier was a large Madeira cake while the F1 sports car was a egg less sponge.

Super Mario Cupcakes

I just love these cupcakes - all classic vanilla with vanilla buttercream swirls topped with lots of Mario characters.
I think I like Yoshi best.

Christening Cake

This a Boy's Christening cake that I made recently.  The name blocks and train are a popular theme but I love the small star burst and scattering of stars over the cake.  I also like the vibrancy of the colours.
